Televisions and computer monitors
Also covers: tv, telly, flat screen tv, smart tv, computer monitor, display, tube tv, crt monitor, old telly
Can you donate televisions and computer monitors to a UK charity shop? It depends.
Why shops may refuse it
Some shops can test and sell modern flat-screen sets, while others refuse all TVs and monitors. Old CRT sets contain leaded glass and have very limited resale demand.
What to do instead
Ask before taking a working flat-screen set and include its size, model and remote. Use the dedicated TV/monitor area at a household waste recycling centre for refused or broken equipment.
