Music CDs and vinyl records
Also covers: cd, cds, music cd, music cds, vinyl, vinyl record, vinyl records, records, lps, record collection
Can you donate music CDs and vinyl records to a UK charity shop? It depends.
Before donating
Acceptance is split: many shops still welcome original CDs, and vinyl is often sought after, but a growing number have stopped taking CDs because demand has moved to streaming. Home-recorded copies are refused everywhere.
Prepare it like this
Check discs and cases are original, complete and unscratched. If a shop has stopped taking CDs, try another charity nearby or a local reuse group; collectable vinyl may be worth a specialist valuation.
