Fitted or dismantled flat-pack furniture
Also covers: fitted wardrobe, dismantled ikea, kitchen units
Can you donate fitted or dismantled flat-pack furniture to a UK charity shop? It depends.
Why shops may refuse it
Once fitted furniture is removed or flat-pack is taken apart, it usually can't be safely reassembled and resold.
What to do instead
Offer it on Freecycle/Olio for parts, or take it to the council recycling centre as wood.

This helps us establish what we have room for and whether it is in saleable condition, which means we don’t have to turn anyone away when they arrive with their items! Please note, all soft furnishings must come with the fire retardant label intact. Due to limited space in our warehouse, we may have to decline furniture items – we hope you understand.”
