Before donating

Books in clean, saleable condition are widely accepted, including religious texts such as Bibles, Qurans and Torahs. Shops may limit large quantities, outdated reference works and textbooks, or books with extremely limited likely demand such as very old software manuals or annuals.

Prepare it like this

For specialist, local-history or academic material, try a relevant library, school, archive or local-history society. Offer other usable books through a reuse group; use paper recycling only as a last resort.

Absence from a charity's list doesn't mean they accept it — it just isn't singled out. Ask your local shop.
