Bed linen and sheets
Also covers: sheets, bed sheets, duvet cover, duvet covers, pillowcase, pillowcases, fitted sheet, linen, linens
Can you donate bed linen and sheets to a UK charity shop? It depends.
Before donating
Clean, unstained sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases are widely accepted — unlike filled bedding such as duvets and pillows, which most shops refuse on hygiene grounds.
Prepare it like this
Wash and fold sets together and label the size. Worn or stained linen is still useful to animal shelters and textile recycling banks.

Appears in the Coventry page's 'Donations we can't accept' > 'Furniture & Housewares' list: used duvets and used pillows themselves are refused, but duvet covers and pillowcases are explicitly carved out as an exception to that refusal (i.e. they are not refused / can be donated). Plain sheets and the general term 'bed linen' are not separately named on this page.
Their wording
“used duvets (except duvet covers), used pillows (except pillowcases)”

From the Leicester Samaritans charity shop page's donations list, listed alongside homeware. Branch-specific page, not one of the two originally-known charity-wide pages.
Their wording
“Donations are appreciated - womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, shoes, handbags, rucksacks, linen and homeware, working electricals, toys (with a CE mark), bric a brac, music in any format and some books.”

Their wording
“Kitchenware, glassware, china, pictures, knitted items, curtains, linens”
-
Accepted
Listed under accepted items as generic 'household linens' (not specifically 'bed linen' or 'sheets'), distinct from the separately-rejected 'Duvets and pillows'. 'Linens' is treated as sufficient naming for this item, but the phrasing is broad/generic (could span more than just bed linen).
Their wording
“Household linens and curtains”
-
Accepted
Appears in the 'Furniture and homewares — Items we cannot accept' list; pillow cases and mattress covers are explicitly excepted from the non-acceptance of used duvets/pillows, indicating pillow cases are accepted even though used duvets/pillows themselves are not.
Their wording
“Duvets or pillows (used) (except pillow cases & mattress covers)”
-
Accepted
Listed under 'Items we are currently accepting', as its own list item distinct from duvets (which carry a separate 'new or pristine' condition in the same list).
Their wording
“Clean single and double bedding sets”
-

Their wording

Absence from a charity's list doesn't mean they accept it — it just isn't singled out. Ask your local shop.
